Body parts found on Hollywood Hills hiking trail

Los Angeles police responded to a possible slaying in the Hollywood Hills after human remains were discovered off a hiking trail, department officials said Tuesday.

The remains were found by a park ranger about 3:45 p.m. in the rugged hills near the 3200 block of Canyon Drive, said LAPD spokeswoman Sara Faden.

No details were immediately available, and police would not discuss the nature of the killing.
