L.A. will impose 'red flag' parking restrictions due to high winds

January 7, 2012 | 10:23 pm

Fire officials have issued a "red flag warning" for the city of Los Angeles because whipping winds and warmer-than-usual temperatures have raised the risk of fire.

City fire officials said "red flag" parking restrictions will be in place starting at 8 a.m. Sunday.
High winds are expected to arrive in the area late Saturday evening. Details on areas affected by the parking restrictions are available here.
