L.A. police officer shoots suspect in North Hollywood

A Los Angeles police officer shot and wounded a suspect Wednesday in North Hollywood, authorities said.

The officer, who was not immediately identified, was in the 5200 block of Colfax Avenue shortly before 2 p.m. when he encountered a suspect and became involved in a shooting.

The condition of the suspect was not immediately available nor did police discuss the exact circumstances that led to the shooting and the number of shots fired by the officer.
