Suspect shot and wounded by deputy in Paramount robbery
One suspected robber was shot and wounded by a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputy during a confrontation in Paramount, authorities said Thursday night.
Deputies launched a manhunt to find a second suspect after the evening robbery in the 8100 block of Century Boulevard. The suspect was apprehended shortly before 7 p.m., the Sheriff's Department said.
The wounded person was taken to a local hospital with unspecified injuries. The details surrounding the robbery were not immediately available. The names and ages of the two suspects were not released.
The department said the shooting was under investigation by the agency's independent watchdog and prosecutors from the district attorney's office, which is customary any time a deputy uses a firearm during an incident.
