Burglary suspect escapes from Torrance courthouse

Torrance courthouse
Torrance police and Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department officers searched Wednesday for a burglary suspect who bolted from deputies' custody and ran out of a courthouse.

Few details were immediately available about how the prisoner was able to get away from authorities in the 10:30 a.m. incident.

The suspect, whose name was not immediately available, was last seen running eastbound from the courthouse on Maricopa Street. He was described as 6 feet tall and weighing about 160 pounds, wearing a blue buttoned shirt and dark jeans.
