21-year-old man shot to death in Wilmington

Police searched for suspects Monday in the shooting death of a 21-year-old man in the Wilmington area.

The man was shot several times around 9:30 p.m. Sunday on a sidewalk near the intersection of East L Street and Banning Boulevard, according to Det. Julie Scruggs of the LAPD’s Harbor station.

The victim, whose identity was not immediately released, was a resident of Wilmington. He was taken to St. Mary Medical Center where he was pronounced dead around 10 p.m., according to the L.A. County coroner’s office.
