2 killed, 1 wounded in Chula Vista apartment shooting

Two people were killed and a third was wounded early Friday morning in a shooting at a Chula Vista apartment complex.

Residents reported multiple gunshots at 3 a.m. in the 400 block of Oaklawn Avenue, said Lt. Eric Thunberg with Chula Vista Police Department.

A 21-year-old man who was shot in the face was taken to the hospital and was expected to recover.

A younger woman and a younger man, possibly underage, were found dead. Their identities had not yet been released, Thunberg said.

The motive for the attack was under investigation. No suspects had yet been identified.

Police were looking into another, possibly related, disturbance at a nearby apartment Wednesday but were not releasing details.
