Authorities have arrested two men for the slaying of 18-year-old Marvin Laguan, who was shot on a Pasadena street on Aug. 22, 2011.

Pasadena and Glendale police, along with members of the U.S. Marshal’s Service’s fugitive unit, arrested Steven Fleming, 19, of Pasadena, and Scott King, 19, of Palmdale, on Wednesday.

Laguan was shot on the 400 block of N. Mar Vista Ave. on the evening of Aug. 22. His death prompted a community meeting led by Pasadena City Councilman Victor Gordo and Police Chief Phillip Sanchez regarding safety in the neighborhood.

“The arrest in this case is another example of the diligent work conducted by the Pasadena Police homicide detectives,” Sanchez said in a statement. “This case was very complex and required a great deal of investigation savvy, patience and determination.”
