Woman's body found inside burning home in Lancaster

Police are investigating a house fire in Lancaster after discovering a woman's body inside a two-story home in the Quartz Hill neighborhood.

The blaze was reported at 5:15 p.m. Sunday in the 42000 block of 56th Street West, said Brian Riley, an inspector with the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The fire was contained by 5:26 p.m.

No information was available on where the woman's body was found or who she was.

Homicide detectives called the fire "suspicious in nature," and the investigation was ongoing.
