Tyler the Creator denies arrest at Sunset Boulevard club on Twitter
A rapper who sheriff's officials said was arrested on a felony vandalism charge at the Roxy Theatre on Sunset Boulevard took to Twitter Friday morning to deny he had been behind bars.
"Whoa, Its Stories On Me Being In Jail?" 20-year-old Tyler Okonma, who goes by Tyler the Creator, tweeted. "The [expletive]? I Wasnt In No Jail Or Arrested Or Nothing."
Los Angeles County sheriff's officials said they arrested Okonma Thursday night after security guards at the Roxy Theatre, where Okonma was performing with his group, Odd Future, reported he had destroyed a soundboard.
An angry crowd flocked to the street after the arrest, but was dispersed without injuries or further arrests.
Okonma was released on $20,000 bail.
