Homeless man found stabbed to death in Highland Park

A man was found stabbed to death outside a Highland Park strip mall early Thursday.

A security guard on patrol found the victim, described only as a man in his 60s, with multiple stab wounds outside the strip mall in the 5800 block of North Figueroa Street about 12:55 a.m. Thursday, said Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Bruce Borihanh.

Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene. No one saw a suspect and it was unknown what the motive for the killing might have been, Borihanh said.

The victim appeared to be a transient, he said.
