Teens arrested in connection with Pismo Beach fires

Two teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of setting about 24 fires on 10 acres of San Luis Obispo County wildland outside Pismo Beach, authorities said Friday.

The blazes were ignited Thursday afternoon and were extinguished by a crew of nine firefighters, said Cal Fire Capt. Jane Schmitz.

One of the suspects is a juvenile. The other was identified as Dominic Wefald, 18, of Arroyo Grande.

Schmitz declined to release additional information, saying an investigation of the fires is ongoing.
