Jesse Taylor Shockey, 16, of Garden Grove is being held on $1-million bail. Prosecutors allege he stabbed Dylan Austin, 19, late Wednesday night at Lake View Park following an argument and physical altercation.

Shockey  is charged with one felony count of murder and a sentencing enhancement for the personal use of a deadly weapon. If convicted, he faces 26 years to life in prison.

Two weeks before the altercation, prosecutors said, Shockey got into an argument at the same park with friends of Austin. Shockey returned to the park Dec. 21 armed with a knife. Authorities say he and his friends confronted Austin and his friends.

The motive for the stabbing remains unclear.
