Stolen bust from Chapman University found in garbage bin

The mystery over the missing bronze bust of former Secretary of State George P. Shultz is over.

The bust, missing from Chapman University in Orange since Aug. 6, was recently recovered from a garbage bin in Huntington Beach, the Orange County Register reported Tuesday, and the man who found it will receive a $250 reward Friday.

The busts are a way to recognize donors who give endowed chairs to Chapman. About 20 busts dot the Chapman campus and range from $8,000 to $10,000 in cost.

A bust of President Reagan also went missing when Shultz's was stolen. but it has not been recovered. The school plans to recommission the Reagan bust.
