Southern California Moments: Looking back on 2011 and ahead to 2012

Scm_2011_montage

365 days, 365 photos. Over the course of the year we've made a lot of new friends and seen a lot of great photography. Above are the 12 photos that struck us as our favorites from each month. From Batman playing with some dogs in the back of a truck in Hollywood, to a tequila-swigging luchadora, to the Mojave National Preserve, images came from across Southern California. And who could forget the photo of SpongeBob SquarePants getting arrested?

We're not ending here, though. With the success of our first year, we're continuing Southern California Moments and adding a Facebook page to make it easier to discuss and submit photos, and talk about upcoming events and anything else our readers come up with.

Continue to visit L.A. Now each day at 4 p.m. for the photo of the day. You can still submit photos on Flickr or our reader submission gallery. To share on Facebook, tag us in your photos.

Thank you for making Southern California Moments a success in 2011, and we'll see you in the new year.
