Tatjana Cruz, 24, was hospitalized Wednesday when paramedics found her beaten with injuries to her head and upper body in a home in the 14500 block of Blue Sage Road. Shortly after she arrived at the hospital, doctors discovered the child she was carrying was dead, possibly because of the beating.

The age of the unborn child was not available. Cruz died Friday afternoon, according to a San Bernardino County sheriff’s report.

Homicide detectives learned Cruz had had a fight with the unborn child's father, Willie Davis Hines, 23, shortly before the beating. He remained at large Monday.

Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at (909) 387-3589.
