Attacker sought in stabbing rampage that left 1 dead, 2 injured

William Gary Simpson Jr. is wanted in connection with a stabbing attack, police said.Authorities in Riverside County on Tuesday night were searching for an attacker in a stabbing rampage that left a woman dead and two men in critical condition.

The 19-year-old woman was found inside a Murrieta home Tuesday morning mortally wounded from a stab wound, police said. She died at the residence.

The woman's name was not released.

Her 48-year-old father and a 17-year-old male were also wounded at the home at 40025 Milkwood Lane, the Murrieta Police Department said in a statement. Their names were not released.

Police identified the attacker as William Gary Simpson Jr., 19, who lived at the residence as recently as last year. He was seen running from the area, according to police.

Simpson is described as African American, about 6 feet 3 and 120 pounds. He has short brown hair, police said.
