Police investigate brothers' apparent murder-suicide in Echo Park

Detectives are investigating the apparent murder-suicide of two brothers in Echo Park.

Police were called to the 800 block of North Coronado Street about 3 p.m. Tuesday, where they found firefighters already there and two men dead inside the home.

Homicide detectives think Christopher Nguyen, 26, went into the room of his brother, Daniel Nguyen, 28, Tuesday afternoon and shot him as he slept, then turned the gun on himself.

Christopher Nguyen was being treated for depression and had recently been in and out of the hospital for treatment, according to police.

Anyone with information can call (877) 527-3247.
