Man dies after jumping from six-story parking garage, police say

A 68-year-old man died Thursday after apparently jumping from a six-story parking structure in Costa Mesa.

The man's name was withheld until his family is notified. He jumped from the parking structure near the Segerstrom Center for the Arts about 11:19 a.m., Costa Mesa police told the Daily Pilot.

Paramedics performed CPR for about 15 minutes after pulling the man from the bushes, said Costa Mesa Police Sgt. Vic Bakkila.

South Coast security notified police of the incident.

The man's car was parked atop the structure.

Authorities do not know what the man's connection, if any, is to the area.
