Buena Park man charged with killing friend in fight over sex

Edgar Salvador Luciozamudio is charged with murder.A Buena Park man charged with murdering a friend because he wanted to have sex with him is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Orange County.

Edgar Salvador Luciozamudio, 22, refused an attempt last week by Ricardo Rios, 47, to have sex and attacked the man, according to the Orange County district attorney's office.

Luciozamudio is charged with punching Rios multiple times and fracturing his nose, jaw, orbital bone and several ribs, prosecutors said.

Rios died of his injuries. The two men were in a detached garage where Rios lived when the incident took place.

Luciozamudio allegedly fled the scene and called 911, saying that Rios might need medical attention, prosecutors said.

Luciozamudio was being held in lieu of $1-million bail. His arraignment is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Central Jail courthouse in Santa Ana.
