Gunman is arrested in Sherman Oaks

Police arrested a gunman in Sherman Oaks early Sunday morning in a possibly drug-related shooting, but were unable to locate a victim.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired on the 13500 block of Rye Street about 2:15 a.m. and arrested a suspect, whose name was not released, on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

Sgt. Don Muniz at the LAPD's Van Nuys station said no victim has come forward and it's not clear whether someone was struck by the gunfire.

Police believe the shooting may have been related to a marijuana-growing operation that was found at the scene. They recovered a gun at the scene. Muniz said investigators are now trying to track down the victim.
