Freezing temperatures on tap for Southern California

Temperatures could plunge to freezing conditions overnight in parts of Southern California.

According to the National Weather Service, lows Tuesday will hover in the 30s in the L.A. Basin and inland valleys and as low as 15 degrees in the Antelope Valley.

Temperatures will drop to the low 30s in parts of Orange County and the Inland Empire, with inland mountain areas dropping into the 20s.

The cold snap will worsen Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, with temperatures dropping into the 20s in San Gabriel and San Fernando valleys, according to the weather service. Frost overnight is possible Wednesday morning.
