Girl taken on police chase by father is reunited with mother

Girl rescued after police chase
A 4-year-old girl whose father led police on a pursuit with her in the car was safe and back with her mother Tuesday, police said.

The girl's father, Ever Roque, 29, led police on a chase starting about 10 p.m. Monday in Atwater Village and ending in Silver Lake, where he got out of the car holding the girl in his arms.

Police officers tackled Roque and rescued the child. LAPD officials said Roque had taken the girl after a dispute with her mother. The mother's parents called police.

The child was treated for minor scratches and reunited with her mother. Roque was booked on suspicion of child abduction.
