Edison shooting: Gunman was employee, source says

Click here to see more photos.The gunman who shot two people at a Southern California Edison office was an employee, according to a source.

The man shot a male and female employee before killing himself, police say.

Authorities have not identified the attacker or suggested a motive.

The source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the gunman worked as a systems analyst.

At a news conference, police said employees at the sprawling office complex were being let out of their offices but would be interviewed for several hours.

The shooting prompted a lockdown at several schools as officials determined whether the gunman was still alive.

The attack occurred about 2 p.m. at 4910 Rivergrade Road. Employees were seen on the television news walking out of the building with their arms up.
