Burglars steal jewelry, electronics and "teacup" Yorkie named Cookie

York
The Hansen family in northern San Diego County is convinced that the burglars who stole several thousand dollars worth of jewelry and electronic gear also stole an even more valued possession, their miniature Yorkshire terrier named Cookie.

"They even took his bed," said a distraught Joanne Hansen.

The family is offering a reward for the return of Cookie. Even the family cat, Cleo, seems bereft.

News stories suggest that the theft of Yorkies, especially "teacup" miniatures like Cookie, are common. Cookie, who is 5 and weighs less than two pounds, cost $2,500.

A man and woman in their early 20s were seen driving away from the Hansen home in rural Valley Center. The front door to the home was broken.

A reward is offered for Cookie's return. Anyone with information is asked to call  the Hansen family at (619) 743-3823.
