Dense fog warning in effect for Los Angeles, other communities

A dense fog warning is in effect for Los Angeles and Oxnard until 8 a.m. Saturday, with visibility of a quarter-mile or less expected in downtown Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Malibu, Beverly Hills, Hollywood and Long Beach, the National Weather Service said Friday evening.

Driving conditions could be hazardous on the 710, 110 and 405 freeways, on Pacific Coast Highway and around the ports, authorities said, warning motorists to slow down, use their headlights and leave plenty of space between cars.
