Occupy L.A.: Police arrest at least a dozen people

Shortly before 2 a.m., dozens of police officers in riot gear began clearing protesters gathered on First Street, just west of Broadway.

Officers chased demonstrators off the streets and onto sidewalks, arresting several protesters. Most of the demonstrators, however, complied with the officers' demands to disperse.

At least a dozen people were taken into custody. The arrests were carried out in an orderly fashion.

Meanwhile, police continued to arrest people who were refusing to leave City Hall Park voluntarily.
