Minivan crashes into furniture store; driver accused of DUI
A 27-year-old man accused of driving under the influence of drugs or alchohol swerved off the road and crashed a minivan into a furniture store in Bell, police said.
The man, whose name was not released, was driving east on Gage Avenue in a white Chevrolet Astro at about 10 p.m. Sunday when the van slammed into Pacific Furniture, Bell police said.
A 36-year-old man who was a passenger in the minivan had to be extracted from the vehicle and was taken to a hospital with injuries described as not life-threatening.
The driver was arrested and was being held on suspicion of felony driving under the influence.
