Marine found dead in barracks at Camp Pendleton

A 19-year-old Marine from Canoga Park has been found dead in his barracks room at Camp Pendleton, the Marine Corps announced Monday.

Lance Cpl. Mario Arias was an air-crew trainee with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Training Squadron 303, Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing. He enlisted in August 2010. He was found dead Saturday.

The death is being investigated by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.
