Earthquake: 3.2 temblor occurs near Ely, Nev.

A shallow magnitude 3.2 earthquake was reported Monday afternoon 17 miles from Ely, Nev., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 2:57 p.m. Pacific Standard Time at a depth of 13.0 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 21 miles from McGill, Nev., 24 miles from Willow Grove, Nev. and 198 miles from Salt Lake City.

In the last 10 days, there have been no earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
