Earthquake: 3.0 quake strikes near San Juan Bautista

A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Friday morning two miles from San Juan Bautista, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 10:53 a.m. Pacific time at a depth of 3.1 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was six miles from Aromas, six miles from Prunedale, nine miles from Hollister and 40 miles from San Jose City Hall.

In the past ten days, there has been one earthquake magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
