Man shot by Reseda gunman dies

The victim of a gunman killed by police last month in Reseda has died, officials said Thursday.

Margarito Gutierrez, 32, died Wednesday afternoon at Northridge Medical Center, said coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter.

He was one of two people who were critically wounded Sept. 24 by alleged gunman Alberto Acosta, 18, as they sat in a parked car in the 6600 block of Etiwanda Avenue.

Acosta was fatally shot during a confrontation with police.

An update on the condition of the second victim was not immediately available.
