Man held on suspicion of murder after body found in Pasadena fire

Pasadena fire
A Los Angeles man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of a 28-year-old woman whose body was found in a Pasadena apartment after a fire early Friday, the Pasadena Sun is reporting.

Maria Donnelly’s body was found inside a Meridith Avenue apartment.

During the weekend, authorities arrested Corey Green, 28, in connection with her death, said Pasadena Police Chief Phillip Sanchez.

“Initially, it was a suspicious fire, but following an investigation, the medical examiners are classifying it as a homicide,” he said.

Donnelly's neighbors remembered her as kind but also recalled hearing shouting and arguments through the thin walls of the second-story apartment.

An investigation is ongoing, Sanchez said.
