Earthquake: 3.0 quake strikes in San Jacinto

A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Wednesday morning in San Jacinto, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 11:20 a.m. PDT at a depth of 9.3 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 3 miles from Hemet, 5 miles from Valle Vista, 18 miles from Moreno Valley and 70 miles from San Diego.

In the last 10 days, there have been three earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
