Interstate 15 in Lake Elsinore closed after police chase, gunshots

Southbound Interstate 15 in Lake Elsinore will be closed Friday until noon as the California Highway Patrol investigates an officer pursuit that involved gunfire, officials said.

No one was hurt in the 2 a.m. incident near Railroad Canyon Road in western Riverside County, said Officer Mario Lopez, spokesman for the CHP Inland Division.

An officer was pursuing a vehicle when shots were fired, Lopez said.

No other details were available early Friday.
