Firefighters battle brush fire near Castaic

Image: Map shows approximate location of a fire in the Antelope Valley. Source: Google Maps Los Angeles County firefighters were battling a brush fire in the Antelope Valley on Tuesday afternoon that had burned about 5 acres.

The blaze broke out shortly before 3:30 p.m. near the 5 Freeway and Templin Highway, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.

About 115 firefighters were battling the flames on the ground. They were being assisted by five helicopters, officials said. Firefighters on the scene were reporting that aircraft were being hampered by power lines.

The cause was under investigation.
