September 29, 2011 |  7:20 am

San Diego police are investigating the shooting death and robbery of a 68-year-old cab driver in La Jolla.

The driver's body was found on La Jolla Scenic Drive North late Wednesday night when police responded to a report of shots being fired shortly before midnight.

Witnesses said the driver and another man got out of the cab and argued before the shots were fired, according to Lt. Kevin Rooney.

The gunman fled in the cab, which was found two hours later along Coast Boulevard, Rooney said.
