A California woman fell to her death Sunday in Yosemite National Park while hiking Half Dome with a group of friends.

Details of the accident were not immediately available, but officials told reporters that the woman was from the Bay Area and was hiking with three friends.

Yosemite spokeswoman Kari Cobb told the Fresno Bee that the woman fell 600 feet to her death.

The accident comes two weeks after three hikers fell over a popular Yosemite waterfall and died.

Hormiz David, 22, of Modesto, Ninos Yacoub, 27, of Turlock and Ramina Badal, 21, of Modesto were on a day trip to Yosemite National Park with friends and family when they climbed over a metal guardrail at the top of Vernal Fall near Curry Village in Yosemite Valley, park officials said. Witnesses told rangers that several people urged the group to get out of the cold, fast-moving water, but the three were swept over the 317-foot fall.

The Associated Press identified the woman who died Sunday at Half Dome as Hayley LaFlamme of San Ramon.
