3.2 quake felt in Long Beach area

Location of the earthquake

A shallow magnitude 3.2 earthquake rattled Long Beach on Thursday afternoon.

The temblor occurred at 2:43 p.m. and was felt in a large swath of the city, as well as surrounding communities such as Signal Hill and Lakewood.

No damage was immediately reported.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake occurred under Recreation Park in Long Beach, near 7th Street and Park Avenue.
