Shootout with LAPD officers closes parts of South L.A.

Untitled The Los Angeles Police Department closed off blocks of South L.A. Thursday afternoon amid reports of a shootout involving officers.

There were reports that one officer may have been injured, but that has not be confirmed.

The shooting was reported at 2:45 p.m. near 66th Street and Western Avenue.

Several blocks have been closed off as officers assessed the situation.
