Six hurt as helicopter crashes at Camp Pendleton

Six military personnel aboard a UH-1Y helicopter that crashed at Camp Pendleton on Wednesday were receiving medical attention, the Marine Corps said.

An earlier report that one person was killed in the crash was withdrawn as unconfirmed.

The crash occurred about noon in the northern reaches of the sprawling base. The helicopter is part of the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing with headquarters at Miramar Marine Corps Air Station in San Diego.

The crash is under investigation.
