Detectives continue to investigate case of human remains in Pico Rivera

Investigators
Los Angeles County sheriff’s homicide detectives late Thursday continued to investigate the discovery of unidentified human remains in the backyard of a home in Pico Rivera.

According to a sheriff’s report, several people had been looking for a person they hadn’t seen in a few days. None of these people were identified in the report.

On Wednesday night, they went to a home on the 8500 block of Pico Vista Road, which the person is known to frequent. There, they found the remains buried in the backyard and called the Sheriff’s Department, which patrols Pico Rivera.

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office had not identified the person, nor determined cause of death, late Thursday, and no arrests have been made in the case.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call detectives at 323-890-5500. Anonymous tips may be left at 800-222-TIPS (8477), texting the letters TIPLA plus your tip to CRIMES (274637), or at http://lacrimestoppers.org.
