Royal visit: Orange County teens 'star-struck' by Will and Kate

Three teenagers from Yorba Linda pooled their graduation money for a two-night stay at the Beverly Hilton for one reason: to follow the royal couple around all weekend in search of a glimpse, a wave or a good photo.

They came close Friday when they waited outside the hotel waving a British flag with a photo of the couple, donning homemade T-shirts commemorating the wedding. One even wore a princess tiara. The girls were among the screaming throngs of people when the couple emerged from their black Range Rover late Friday afternoon.

"I think I was a little bit star-struck, like shocked," said Hannah Schade, 18. The girls said their fixation with the couple was because of the unlikely romance of a commoner and a prince.

"I feel like their marriage is going to make it," said Shirley Lahr, 18. "She just seems so normal."

The girls said they just wanted a personal wave from the couple, but weren't discouraged.

"We still have more opportunities," said Tara Campbell, 17.
