Reputed gang member sentenced in carjacking

A reputed gang member has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for a carjacking in Compton, authorities said Tuesday.

Timothy Lewis was convicted last year of one count of carjacking for threatening and physically removing a victim from a vehicle last October and driving away, officials said.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department officials said in a statement that Lewis is "a documented member of the MOB Piru street gang."
