Coroner to probe Orange County woman's death while in custody
The Orange County sheriff-coroner will conduct an autopsy on a woman who died while in police custody on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Newport Beach police arrested Huntington Beach resident Charlotte Engle, 54, on July 1 and took her to the Orange County Jail, the Daily Pilot reported, citing the Orange County sheriff-coroner.
Engle appeared to be suffering from high blood pressure and was taken to the hospital in Santa Ana, where she died Sunday, authorities said.
