July 1, 2011 |  6:40 am

Pav Authorities found the body of a 45-year-old man inside a parked vehicle in front of the Pavilions supermarket on Balboa Peninsula, police said Thursday.

The cause of death is pending an autopsy from the Orange County Sheriff-Coroner's office, Newport Beach Police spokeswoman Kathy Lowe told the Daily Pilot.

Lowe said a passerby discovered the body about 7:05 p.m. Tuesday. The witness noticed an unresponsive person in a vehicle parked in the lot at The Landing shopping center, near City Hall.  Firefighters responded and determined the man was dead. Newport Beach police arrived and saw no signs of foul play, Lowe said.
