Man fatally shot by Huntington Park police identified
A man fatally shot by Huntington Park police was identified Friday by the Los Angeles County coroner's office as 23-year-old Nahun Hernandez Garcia of San Fernando.
Police say Garcia pointed a handgun at officers before they shot him. He died Wednesday at the scene in the 2600 block of Zoe Avenue.
Officers reported that they came upon Garcia running from a store in 6600 block of Pacific Boulevard, where a robbery had been reported. Officers on foot and in patrol cars chased Garcia, who turned and pointed a handgun at them, police said.
The officers opened fire, fatally wounding Garcia in the upper body, police said.
