July 26, 2011 |  7:40 am

Crime reports are up significantly for the latest week in eight L.A. neighborhoods, according to an analysis of LAPD data by the Los Angeles Times’ Crime L.A. database.

Three neighborhoods reported a significant increase in violent crime. Florence (A) was the most unusual, recording 23 reports compared with a weekly average of 13.6 over the last three months.

Jefferson Park (D) topped the list of six neighborhoods with property crime alerts. It recorded 22 property crimes compared with its weekly average of 9.3 over the last three months.

One neighborhood triggered alerts for both violent and property crime.

Alerts are based on an analysis of crime reports for July 14–July 20, the most recent seven days for which data are available.
