5.9 earthquake strikes Baja California

A magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck Baja California on Tuesday morning.

The quake was reported at 10:44 a.m. It's epicenter was about 54 miles offshore from Los Mochis in the Mexican state of Sinaloa, centered in the Gulf of California. That's about 700 miles south of the California border.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.
