1 dead, several injured in Camp Pendleton helicopter crash

One person was killed Wednesday and several others were injured when a Marine helicopter crashed at the Camp Pendleton Marine Corps base, officials said.

The crash occurred within the last hour in a remote area of the base near the border with the city of San Clemente.

The helicopter is part of the 3rd Marine Air Wing division.

The cause was under investigation.
